On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, Treier informed the Penn Manor coaching staff that he accepted a Graduate Assistant job at D-1 Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Treier will be coaching the safeties. Mike Treier, football class of '08, was an All Star football and basketball player at Penn Manor. In 2009, he joined the football coaching staff as the offensive coordinator on the 9th grade team and an assistant coach on the junior high basketball team. He held both positions for two years before transferring to Temple. Treier joined the Temple coaching staff in 2011, where he made a quick transition from "gofer" to an entrusted coach. Within his first year at Temple, Treier was invited to sit in on the coaches meetings. He was entrusted with the responsibility of sitting in the coaches box during games to assist the defensive coordinator, all the while maintaining his scout film duties. Marshall is a Division-1 school that competes in the East Division of Conference USA. They finished 5-7 (4-4, 3rd place) in 2012. Their schedule includes West Virginia, Ohio, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Tulsa, Memphis, Houston, and East Carolina. He leaves for Marshall in May. THANK YOU SPONSORS |
