2012: COACH MEALY SET TO DELIVER THE WIDENER UNIVERSITY-LAW SCHOOL MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY LECTURE

Widener Law School's Harrisburg campus will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Thursday, January 19th. The keynote speaker will be Penn Manor's football coach Todd Mealy. Aside from coaching football, Mealy has authored two books (Aliened American and Biography of an Anti-Slavery City), articles in the Pennsylvania Heritage Magazine, and has given lectures about various 19th century civil rights topics. Mealy's talk, entitled "Commencing the Dream: The Genesis Generation," will be about African American public school educator and minister Rev. William Howard Day, who has roots in NY, OH, DE, DC, MD and PA.

Following Coach Mealy's talk, students and faculty at Widener will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on Martin Luther King Jr. In addition, all of the television monitors across campus will feature images of the recently opened Martin Luther King Memorial in Washington D.C.
