Comets win in stunning fashion, comeback for 35-34 win over Cliff

Down 28-7 at halftime, the Comets defense limited Cedar Cliff (the 3rd best scoring offense in the state, 36.4ppg) to minus-1 yard rushing, 100 yards passing, and six points in the second half to inspire a comeback that resulted in a 35-34 victory. The rally was sealed with a Logan Kinser interception with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Game highlights include:
1. The Comets offense gained 556 total yards (368 rushing, 188 passing).
2. Charlie Bell was Penn Manor's leading rusher (30-189, 3 TDs). Bell also had 1 rec. for 32 yards and a TD.
3. Tyler Spangler added 4 carries for 54 yards and 2 receptions for 26 yards. Spangler also had an interception on defense.
4. Levonta Jones carried the ball 5 times for 81 yards and a TD.
5 Quarterback Tanner Erisman was 8-15-2, 188 yards and a TD. Erisman completed passes to six different receivers including Gerrin McKinnie, Bell, Spangler, Ethan Barley and Keegan Gamber.

Stats of the game include time of possession (PM 31:19, CC 16:41) and number of plays (PM 70 plays, CC 41 plays).

Ethan Barley commits to Bloomsburg

Penn Manor's 6'3 260-pound TE/DT Ethan Barley has accepted a scholarship to attend Bloomsburg University next fall. Barley started all four years for the Comets, including experience as the center, guard, tight end, split side defensive end, tight side defensive end, defensive tackle, and nose tackle. Barley was a 1st Team All Section-1 Tight End, Defensive Lineman, and was selected as the L-L Section-1 Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Sweigart is selected to PA-MD Big 33 Classic Football Game

Congratulations to Mitchell Sweigart, 3 year starter at OL/DL, who was selected to the Pennsylvania Big 33 roster.

Logan Kinser selects Millersville

Two-way starter Logan Kinser informed Millersville's head football coach Greg Breitbach on Sunday, January 26, that he will join the Marauders this fall.

Kinser started for three years as Penn Manor's fullback and two years as one of the defense's inside linebacker positions. He is Penn Manor's first player to attend Millersville since the program's all-time leading rusher Geoff Hess in 2007. Logan received a partial scholarship to play football at Millersville while pursuing a degree in education.

Logan will wear #44!

Penn Manor defeats Manheim Township, Bell breaks school single game rushing record

1. Charlie Bell rushed 25 times for 258 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 touchdown pass. Bell broke Carl Christmas's single game rushing record of 248 yards set in 2007 against Cocalico. (Christmas led L-L Section-1 in rushing in '07). Bell also had 15 total tackles (9 solo) and punted two times for an average of 46 yards.

2. Levonta Jones averaged 12.5 yards per carry. Jones rushed 7 times for 88 yards.

3. The offensive line lead Mitch Sweigart, Ethan Barley, Colby Doman, Zeb Pfeiffer, Noah Braun, and Matt Keller compiled 359 rushing yards. An average of 9.9 yards a play.

Gavin Freeman, senior defensive end, was voted L-L League TD Club Lineman of the Week for his performance against Cedar Crest in week 10. Freeman recorded 6 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery in the Comets' 63-21 win.
